Full Job Description
As a Lead Engineer reporting to the AVP of Software Engineering, you'll play a critical role in shaping the cloud, platform, and reliability engineering foundation that powers Nasdaq's Capital Access Platforms - driving technical strategy, operational maturity, and AI-enabled delivery practices at scale.

You'll thrive in this position if you're a hands-on technical leader who brings deep expertise in cloud engineering, Terraform, and site reliability engineering, thrives in complex, cross-functional environments, and is energized by solving problems that have real business and market impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive cloud and platform engineering strategy for Capital Access Platforms, including reference architectures, reusable Terraform modules, automation frameworks, and standards for AWS and Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, containers, and security.
  • Establish and lead site reliability engineering practices - including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, full-stack observability, incident response, resilience design, and operational excellence - to measurably improve reliability and reduce toil.
  • Define and advance an AI-enabled development lifecycle (AI-DLC) across planning, coding, build, test, release, deployment, operations, and monitoring - embedding approved AI capabilities into platform services, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering workflows.
  • Lead complex technical programs spanning multiple teams, products, and business units - translating business objectives into practical architectures, roadmaps, and execution plans.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders, influencing decisions and elevating engineering capability across the organization without direct authority.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Significant hands-on experience in cloud, platform, infrastructure, software, or reliability engineering.
  • Expert-level Terraform experience, including reusable module design, state architecture, CI/CD integration, policy as code, and enterprise governance.
  • Deep expertise with AWS, Azure, or both, with strong experience in Kubernetes, containers, cloud networking, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Strong site reliability engineering background, including observability, resilience design, incident management, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building enterprise cloud platforms, internal developer platforms, or developer self-service capabilities.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants, engineering agents, and governance frameworks for production workflows.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, architecture, or security.
