The Work
At our Lockheed Martin RMS Mitchel Field site on Long Island (NYC metro area), we are seeking a skilled engineer primarily responsible for leading technical efforts and projects for the U.S Navy's strategic navigation submarine programs. In this role you will collaborate with cross functional teams as you lead technical projects from inception to completion. You will be accountable to engineering management for technical oversight for different functional areas of the navigation subsystem and associated technical efforts.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics, in addition to at least 5 years of professional experience
- Applicable technical experience on model-based systems engineering (MBSE) projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively on an Agile team with both local and geographically distributed teammates including subcontractors, technical agents, and customers
- Excellent demonstrated interpersonal and time management skillsets

- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
- Must be a US citizen; this position will require a government security clearance

Desired Skills

- Advanced degree from an accredited college in a related discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
- Experience with MBSE tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and/or development efforts
- Knowledge of Python, Pytorch, ONNX, and general AI/ML tools and libraries
- Basic understanding of time-domain (Kalman, Least-Squares, etc.) and frequency-domain filtering (Low-Pass, High-Pass, Band-Pass, Notch, etc.)
- Proficiency working within both Windows and Unix/Linux environment
- Proficiency with simulation tools (e.g. Simulink) and scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, C++/C)
- Familiarity with coding in C and C++
- Familiarity with Position, Navigation, and Timing with and without GPS
- Familiarity with Inertial Navigation algorithms
- Familiarity with Estimation and Guidance algorithms
- Familiarity with active SONAR systems (Correlation Velocity Log, Doppler Velocity Log, etc.) and underwater platforms
- Active Secret / Top Secret Security Clearance

  • $124899.00 - $199044.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
