Position SummaryMidFirst Bank is seeking a highly skilled
Senior Network Engineer to support and evolve the enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of complex networking environments, with a strong emphasis on
Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in
routing, switching, and modern network architectures, including
SD-WAN, SASE, and VXLAN, and will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of the bank's network environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, campuses, and remote locations
- Engineer and support Cisco-based routing and switching environments (LAN/WAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
- Deploy and manage Fortinet security and network platforms, including firewalls and SD-WAN solutions
- Lead and support initiatives involving SASE architectures, Zero Trust networking, and cloud connectivity
- Design and implement VXLAN / EVPN-based network segmentation and data center fabrics
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network performance and availability issues across the enterprise
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure and resilient connectivity
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new networking technologies aligned to enterprise strategy
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Provide on-call support and participate in incident response as required
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure roles
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR)
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
- Strong expertise in:
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Switching technologies (VLANs, STP, port-channeling)
- Network security and segmentation principles
- Experience with SD-WAN deployments and operations
- Working knowledge of SASE concepts and cloud-integrated networking models
- Experience with VXLAN / EVPN architectures in data center environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across layered network environments
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications- Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCIE preferred)
- Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE 4 or higher preferred)
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid network architectures
- Experience with automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar)
