Senior / Lead Document Controller, you'll provide leadership, coordination, and technical guidance across multiple projects while ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and quality of critical project information.
This is an opportunity to influence project success, mentor team members, strengthen client relationships, and help shape document management excellence across a diverse portfolio of projects. Reporting to the Senior Document Control Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring project teams have the information they need to make confident decisions and achieve successful outcomes.
Your Impact- Lead and mentor a team of Document Controllers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate document control activities across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring accurate and timely information management.
- Drive consistency in document control processes, procedures, systems, and quality standards across project teams.
- Delegate and prioritize workloads to support project schedules, client commitments, and business objectives.
- Review and monitor document control deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project requirements.
- Partner with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to support efficient project execution.
- Identify risks, resource constraints, and process improvement opportunities, escalating issues and recommending solutions as needed.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, succession planning, and capability development within the document control team.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Approximately 12 or more years of progressive Document Control or information management experience, preferably within an engineering, EPC, or EPCM organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate the work of document control professionals across multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of document control principles, records management practices, and project information management systems.
- Ability to identify and communicate Document Control risks, resource constraints, quality concerns, and schedule impacts.
- Strong knowledge of engineering, vendor, supplier, contractor, construction, and client document workflows.
- Demonstrated site or field Document Control experience on active construction projects.
- Experience supporting engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, turnover, or project closeout activities.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships with project teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and resolve Document Control issues with limited supervision.
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities, with confidence in providing technical guidance and recommendations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
