Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: In addition to providing dental services to assigned patients, the Lead Dentist will provide overall supervision to the other dental providers as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Dental Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform chart reviews for dental providers (DDS and RDH), and produce a peer review report for the CQI meeting.
  2. Provide PRC referral approval.
  3. Coordinate PTO for providers at site location and approve payroll.
  4. Oversee No Charge review for redo of treatment at no cost to patient.
  5. Attend Dental Operations Meetings as representatives for dentist at each site.
  6. Initial Incident Report and Patient Complaint review with appropriate recommendations.
  7. Participate in the development and proposal of new dental policy, procedures and protocols with Dental Director.
  8. Assist in recruiting and retention efforts.
  9. Keep the Dental Director, Lead RDA and Clinic Site Manager abreast of current activities and situations within the Dental Department.
  10. Provide consultation services for other providers regarding diagnosis and treatment planning options.
  11. Provide direct dental services to program patients, including all aspects of supervision of staff functions during patient care.
  12. Other duties as assigned by Dental Director.


Experience and Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Licensed California Dentist
  2. Five (5) years clinical experience.
  3. Sensitive to Indian culture and health needs.
  4. Maintain Current DEA registration.
