We're looking for a Lead Database Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and scaling enterprise database solutions that support complex, data-driven business operations.

In this role, you'll serve as both a technical leader and hands-on engineer, partnering closely with application teams, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure data is secure, reliable, and available when it matters most. You'll influence database strategy, guide best practices, and mentor engineers-while still diving deep into performance tuning, automation, and problem-solving.

This is an opportunity to make a real impact by shaping modern database environments that support digital transformation initiatives and high-availability enterprise systems.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Benefits you can count on:

  • Paid time off begins day one.
  • 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.
  • Additional benefits: pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!

What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale database solutions
  • Drive database architecture decisions with a focus on performance, scalability, security, and reliability
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, data integrity issues, and availability risks
  • Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to support mission-critical applications
  • Establish and enforce database standards, best practices, and operational excellence
  • Mentor and guide team members, providing technical leadership and thought partnership
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.

Why you'll love this role:
  • High visibility and influence across technology and business teams
  • Opportunity to modernize and optimize critical data platforms
  • A collaborative environment that values technical expertise and leadership
  • Meaningful work that supports large-scale, enterprise operations

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration across mainframe, Unix, Linux, and Windows environments.

If you're a database expert who thrives at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and hands-on engineering, this role offers the chance to take your impact-and your career-to the next level.
