Full Job Description
Project Overview:

U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) is responsible for life-cycle fleet management, sustainment, logistics, and maintenance for Army aviation platforms and missile systems.

The Lead Data Systems Developer will work at Redstone Arsenal and lead software development and integration projects supporting Army logistics analytics and supply chain operations and mentor junior systems developers.

The developer will collect, process, and analyze data to extract meaningful insights, identify patterns, and support decision-making. Utilizing tools and technologies such as data mining, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data visualization, the developer will transform raw data into actionable information.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead requirements analysis, architecture, secure development, integration, testing, release, and lifecycle documentation.
  • Design controlled data pipelines, analytical tools, interfaces, and automations using authorized Army data and environments.
  • Lead ATO/RMF planning and produce technical evidence, configuration, test, security, and operating documentation.
  • Establish version control, code review, automated testing, defect management, change control, and rollback practices.
  • Coordinate with logistics and data leads so software directly supports mission workflows and traceable decisions.
  • Supervise and mentor a Junior Systems Developer.
  • Prevent unauthorized production write-back, data movement, or deployment and comply with Government cybersecurity direction.


Qualifications:
  • Army logistics-system, LMP, GCSS-Army, DPAS, STAMIS, AMCOM, aviation, or missile experience.
  • Experience leading software development, data integration, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with federal or DoD RMF/ATO processes, secure development, access control, configuration management, and NIST-aligned controls.
  • Proficiency in modern programming, SQL, APIs/data integration, version control, and automated testing.

If selected, you will be included as key personnel in a proposal and required to sign a Letter of Commitment.

You are required to have or be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance for the duration of the contract.
