Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer - Data & Analytics Transformation (GCP) to provide technical leadership in designing and implementing a cloud-based data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on modernizing data and analytics capabilities by consolidating fragmented data sources, transitioning from siloed reporting to a unified analytics ecosystem, and establishing a single source of truth. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in data engineering or platform development, strong expertise in data pipelines, data modeling, ETL/ELT, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies, along with experience leading enterprise data engineering initiatives and distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the technical lead for data engineering initiatives, overseeing architecture and delivery.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Lead the migration from Alteryx to GCP-based ETL and reporting solutions.
• Support the consolidation of 1,200+ metrics and multiple dashboards into a centralized analytics platform.
• Establish a unified analytics ecosystem and a single source of truth through GCP-enabled data architecture.
• Define and implement data engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead and mentor distributed data engineering teams.
• Ensure data quality and integrity across systems.
• Leverage Python, SQL, and GCP-native data services to develop and optimize data solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and delivery activities.
• Identify project risks and lead mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or platform development.
• Experience leading enterprise data engineering initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platforms.
• Strong expertise in data pipelines, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working with complex data environments.
• Experience leading global teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Alteryx or similar tools.
• Background in data platform modernization.
• Experience working with automotive or service operations data.
• Familiarity with GCP services such as BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
