Full Job Description
LEAD BAS ESTIMATOR

We are looking for a senior building automation systems (BAS) professional who wants to go beyond traditional estimating. Our goal is clear: to structure, improve, and evolve our estimating methodology to support our growth on complex projects.

This role is for someone with real BAS experience, whether in the field, programming, design, or project management, and who knows what it truly takes to deliver. Someone who wants to make their mark: not simply to hit a number, but to build the process, set the standard, and strengthen the team.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Project estimating:

  • Analyze Division 25, 23, and 26 drawings and specifications.
  • Understand BAS interfaces with electrical systems, including power supplies, panels, variable frequency drives (VFDs), controls, and interlocks.
  • Produce complete estimates covering materials, labour, programming, and commissioning.
  • Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design, programming, electrical, and operations teams.

Structure and continuous improvement:

  • Develop and refine estimating methods, including ratios, models, and standards.
  • Implement realistic and repeatable labour-calculation frameworks.
  • Define clear scope boundaries between Divisions 25, 23, and 26.
  • Contribute to building an estimating database.
  • Standardize practices across the team.

Technical and strategic support:

  • Participate in bid-strategy discussions.
  • Support the operations team during the pre-project phase.
  • Challenge technical choices and interfaces between disciplines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 5 to 10+ years of experience in building automation systems (BAS), whether in project management, programming (Niagara, PLC, etc.), design/engineering, or advanced controls estimating.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC) and electrical interfaces (Division 26).
  • Experience with BACnet, Niagara, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Estimating experience is a major asset, but not mandatory: deep BAS expertise matters most.
  • Structured, analytical mindset with the ability to build scalable methods.
  • Self-driven, accountable, and a strong communicator with a field-oriented perspective.
  • Fluency in French, spoken and written; English is considered an asset.

What We Offer

  • Stock ownership program
  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid flexibility
  • A collaborative and dynamic work environment
  • Comprehensive group insurance and wellness programs
  • RRSP contributions
  • Training programs designed to help you reach your full potential

WORK LOCATION:Quebec. Hybrid, with remote-work possibility.
