ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lead Automation Architect to join our Team. This role owns the target state architecture for automation, makes and documents the design decisions that realize it, leads architecture reviews across the portfolio, and drives process analysis to identify and prioritize automation opportunities. The position ensures automation solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned to business strategy.

What You Will Do:
- Provide Technical Direction: Mentor architects and engineers, lead cross-functional design sessions, and communicate architectural direction to both technical and executive audiences.
- Define and maintain the target-state automation architecture, establishing standards, patterns, and technology roadmaps aligned with business and mission objectives.
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of secure automation solutions across Federal Financial environments, including air-gapped infrastructure and AWS GovCloud.
- Develop and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies using Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX, and related automation technologies.
- Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, enabling repeatable, secure, and reliable infrastructure deployment and configuration processes.
- Lead architecture reviews and technical design sessions across the portfolio, documenting key decisions, tradeoffs, dependencies, and implementation standards.
- Analyze existing infrastructure and operational processes to identify, prioritize, and roadmap automation opportunities that improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Design automation for server provisioning, configuration, patching, lifecycle management, and decommissioning across RHEL and Windows Server environments
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance.
- Bachelors Degree and 16 years of experience, or a High School diploma or equivalent and 20 years of experience
- 15+ years building and automating secure infrastructure across Federal Financial programs
- Specializes in Infrastructure as Code with Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline engineering with Jenkins
- Continuous monitoring with Splunk for RHEL and Windows Server systems in air-gapped and AWS GovCloud environments
- Experience with Ansible/Ansible Tower/AWX
- Proven experience in Linux and Windows server administration
- Experience in automating decommission/provisioning workflows
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment credit check as required by the Customer

- Experience with Service Now and ARIA
Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
