Job Title: Lead, Application Development
Location: 421 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 (Hybrid work schedule. On days not in office, telecommuting permitted within normal commuting distance of Raleigh, NC office)
Job Duties: S&P Global Market Intelligence Inc. seeks a Lead, Application Development in Raleigh, NC to create technical designs, develop high-performing software applications, and ensure quality through a robust testing process. Design and implement scalable search solutions. Develop, implement, and apply Machine Learning algorithms, including Learning to Rank (LTR) algorithms, to improve search functionality within our platform. Design and train ranking models using synthetic and real user click data. Design, develop, test, and implement Agentic search and Generative AI capabilities to improve the search functionality of the platform, incorporating new technologies to provide future enhancements. Perform feature engineering, including vector similarity, recency, and entity-based features. Automate deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines. Monitor application performance and issue tracking. Diagnose and resolve production issues and ensure timely incident resolution to maintain system stability.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field, plus five (5) years of experience in application development, software development, or a related occupation. Five (5) years of experience must include: Core Java, Spring Inversion of Control (IOC) framework, Spring Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP), Spring Java Persistence API (JPA), Spring Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Template, and Spring Model-View-Controller (MVC); Hibernate, Tomcat Application server, Oracle database, REST Web services, and Kafka messaging; Database performance tuning and SQL query optimization; End-to-end application design and development.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $171,990 to $206,350. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses & certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
