Responsibilities

Industrialization Process Management
  • Works directly with Industrialization leaders to create, update, and change New Product Development (NPD) deliverables to ensure the success of industrialization goals & objectives.
  • Train and mentor as the SME of New Product Industrialization (NPI) Process Management.
  • Support and maintain Industrialization Process RACI.

Industrialization Performance Tracking
  • Monitor and track manufacturing KPIs and metrics to provide baseline performance.
  • Drive a comprehensive risk register of all industrialization risks (including but not limited to safety, quality, delivery, & cost) and mitigations that can affect the industrialization of the new product. Establish business continuity plans with cross functional MissionOPS leaders.
  • Govern through auditing critical industrialization deliverables from the 3D NPD process.

Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Operate directly with R&D SME to implement and oversee robust control measures are implemented to ensure final products meet all manufacturing performance requirements (including but not limited to safety, quality, delivery, & cost).
  • Use and continuously improve processes, standards, and tools to evaluate the design for ease of assembly, manufacturability, material usage, and overall production efficiencies.
  • Work closely with product designers, tooling & manufacturing engineers, and other new product industrialization (NPI) leaders to identify areas of improvement or potential challenges in manufacturing.
  • Oversee processes are in place to test and validate production processes, ensuring that the manufacturing process drives the final product requirements.

Planning & Coordination
  • Lead the planning activities for industrialization resource planning to support the NPD portfolio.
  • Support monitoring the initial performance and customer feedback post-launch and coordinate necessary adjustments to resources in order to meet findings.
  • Work directly with the product portfolio vertical managers to report on key launch metrics, performance and outcomes based on industrialization deliverables.

Qualifications

Experience required:
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in new product development and new product industrialization including line design, installation, commissioning, and production ramp up.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships in cross functional teams both domestically and internationally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create & deliver formal presentations. Ability to translate technical and non-technical communications based on audience.
  • MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience preferred:
  • Proven ability to map processes & identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with experience in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of core tools such as APQP, PPAP, SPC as well as Production Control Plans.
  • At least 5 years experience supporting manufacturing operations, preferably in a project management role.

Education required:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field, preferably from an ABET accredited program.

Education preferred:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Lean Manufacturing.

Qualifications Note:
  • This position is available at four different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.,:
    • Staff II Engineering Project Specialist-2 years project management / engineering experience.
    • Staff III Engineering Project Specialist-3 years project management / engineering experience.
    • Sr. Staff Engineering Project Specialist - minimum 5 years of project management / engineering experience.
    • Engineering Project Manager I - minimum 7 years of project management / engineering experience.
      Master's degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience. PMP Required.
