The role also develops consistent procedures, mentors staff, and helps identify opportunities to expand 3D scanning services.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Project Delivery
Lead and coordinate terrestrial laser scanning projects for industrial, energy, pipeline, facility, and infrastructure clients.
Review work requests, scopes, drawings, site information, and deliverable requirements before mobilization.
Develop project plans for field coverage, scan station layout, control, registration, site access, safety, staffing, schedule, and data management.
Assign personnel and equipment based on project needs, crew capability, schedule, and location.
Monitor project progress and address gaps, risks, or schedule issues early.
Coordinate with project managers and clients on access, site conditions, control, deliverables, and changes in scope.
Support estimates, proposals, work plans, schedules, and technical responses for scanning work.
Technical Oversight and Quality
Establish and maintain standards for field collection, registration, georeferencing, control, data processing, quality checks, file naming, and delivery.
Review scan coverage and field data completeness before crews demobilize when practicable.
Verify that processed datasets meet project requirements for coverage, registration, accuracy, coordinate system, classification, and deliverable format.
Confirm that data is suitable for its intended use, including design, modeling, as-built documentation, coordination, and visualization.
Investigate data quality issues, identify their cause, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain clear records of project methods, control, processing steps, quality checks, limitations, and exceptions.
Staff Leadership and Development
