VHB's Land Development Team is seeking passionate professionals to join our team supporting impactful projects like the Birch and Branch Apartments in Southeast Raleigh-a 180-unit affordable housing development. We're addressing key infrastructure and environmental challenges to help bring this community-focused project to life. Responsibilities- Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, and staffing needs, while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organization
- Oversee and engage in the development of existing client relationships, including conducting periodic meetings, developing proposals and budgets, and gathering feedback with teammates
- Prepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Analyze complex technical challenges and develop new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions
- Promote career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct team members.
- Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects
Skills and Attributes- Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills
- Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
- Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential
- Has interest in growing business development skills
Qualifications- BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
- 8-11 years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects preferred
- PE licensure in NC or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
- Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports
- Understanding of North Carolina market
- Experience with GIS Systems is a plus - GIS is one of the tools we use to create better projects
- Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office
