Lab Manager
Position Summary
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a laboratory. They are responsible for ensuring that the laboratory is running efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Laboratory Manager will work closely with laboratory staff, researchers, and other stakeholders to ensure that laboratory operations are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. They must have a strong knowledge of laboratory operations and regulatory requirements, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What you will be doing
• Manage laboratory operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
• Manage all lab staff, payroll, scheduling, training, answer phone, and customer services
• Ensure that laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated properly
• Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Manage laboratory budgets and ensure that expenses are within budgetary constraints
• Manage laboratory data and ensure that data is accurate and secure by running Daily/Monthly
• Develop and maintain laboratory safety protocols and ensure that all staff are trained on safety procedures
• Collaborate with researchers and other stakeholders to ensure that laboratory operations are aligned with research goals and objectives • Develop and maintain laboratory reports and metrics to track performance
• Manage a team of laboratory staff and provide training and development opportunities
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
What you will bring to the team
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, such as biology, chemistry, or biochemistry
• 5+ years of experience in laboratory management or a related field
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with laboratory equipment and software
• Ability to manage a team and provide leadership and guidance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of current blood borne pathogen and bio-hazardous waste procedures as they apply to the duties of this position
• Knowledge of CDPH, CLIA, CAP, and State and Federal laws that apply to the duties of this position in a moderate to high complexity laboratory.
Travel Requirements
• Periodic travel may be necessary.

Compensation is depending on a number of factors including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, or experience that may fall outside of the range shown
Pay Range: $85,000 - $118,000 per year
