We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Key Account Manager within our Sales team to help support our Hydraulics business at our site in Wilmington, North Carolina. Our cylinders are extensively used in the construction machinery industry, the automobile industry, and in engineering applications as well as in logistics and material handling. Furthermore, our cylinders can also be used in agricultural and maritime applications etc.

Position Summary We have an immediate opening for a Key Account Sales Manager to develop and manage sales in the Hydraulic Cylinder market in the USA. This position will include managing and developing current OEM key accounts along with growing the OEM customer base in the US. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and an overall team player, with experience managing large key accounts, managing OEM customers, and successfully developing new OEM business. Responsibilities
• Meet or exceed sales goals.
• Lead and collaborate with the inside support team to meet the order intake, sales, and gross margin goals.
• Establish and deploy specific actions to develop relationships to grow OEM direct sales. with corporate clients, key accounts and resellers.
• Support customer projects from conception to series production.
• Responsible for key business opportunities at any given stage of the sales cycle.
• Conduct price and contract negotiations with new and existing customers.
• Responsible for gathering, interpreting, and disseminating market data provided by managers and company marketing programs.
• Implement strategies to recognize new revenue and margin opportunities.
• Strategically manage the development and implementation of appropriate responses to competition initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products, their activity in the marketplace, and regular submittal of reports.
• Develop staff using internal and external training resources.
• Discover, understand, and relate to the client's needs. Devise, develop, and promote value-based solutions to drive business growth.
• Ability to investigate root cause and quickly identify/suggest viable solutions.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills, sense of urgency and aptitude for effectively prioritizing tasks to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to verbally communicate information and ideas effectively one-on-one and in group settings. Must be able to establish rapport with clients and business associates on the phone or video calls.
• Ability to deal with pressure and conflict positively. Demonstrate self-confidence and positive attitude towards self and others. Demonstrate productive use of time.
• Able to learn quickly and independently on the job. Must be a resourceful and proactive problem solver.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Adobe.
To be successful in this role, you need
• A minimum of five (5) years of Account Management experience. Hydraulic cylinder or related field experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with advanced PC skills.
• Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Overnight travel, or as required.
• Appropriate product and system certification preferred.
• Must demonstrate ability to motivate and sustain sales growth with designated accounts.
• Must demonstrate ability to sell cross-group.
• Must have proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
• Must have a "hunter" sales mentality with the ability to find and secure new opportunities with current and non-existent customers.
• Organizational skills, strong communication skills and social competence
• Be a team player.
• Other assignments that may be necessary to support the business.
