Full Job Description
Carlton Fields is seeking a Junior Conflicts Attorney to join a growing team of conflicts attorneys within the Office of General Counsel. This position can be based in Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa or West Palm Beach.

The Junior Conflicts Attorney reports to the Ethics Counsel and works closely with the New Business Intake and Legal Talent Management departments to identify and resolve conflicts of interest arising from incoming lateral attorneys and staff hires.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Analyze conflict search reports for incoming lateral attorneys and staff hires

Work with Ethics Counsel on lateral hiring process, including conflict review and clearance matters

Provide support in such other areas as the Ethics Counsel deems appropriate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the United States required
  • Three years of legal experience within a law firm
  • Willingness to devote most of the business day to review of conflicts of interest database search reports
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to articulate issues accurately, clearly and succinctly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities needed to address complex questions and issues
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented; issue-tracking, follow-up and resolution skills are essential
  • Must maintain confidentiality and use discretion with sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
