Are you an experienced Instrumentation Technician looking for a high-paying opportunity with a stable industry leader? Georgia-Pacific's Wauna Mill is seeking a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to join our world-class maintenance team supporting one of the largest tissue manufacturing facilities in North America. The starting pay is $57.59/hour. What You Will Do

As a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our manufacturing operations by:
  • Performing preventive and predictive maintenance using advanced diagnostic equipment and testing tools
  • Troubleshooting and repairing industrial instrumentation, control systems, and process equipment
  • Calibrating, configuring, installing, and maintaining transmitters, control valves, actuators, analyzers, positioners, meters, and related instrumentation
  • Supporting PLC and DCS troubleshooting to ensure efficient and reliable operations
  • Investigating equipment failures and participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts
  • Implementing corrective actions that improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Updating technical drawings, maintenance documentation, and work orders
  • Maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Partnering with operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Possession of an Oregon Electrician License of "Limited Energy Technician Class B" (LEB) or higher
  • 1 year or more of Journey level Instrument experience
  • Experience with PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Experience working with DCS's (Distributed Control Systems)


What Will Put You Ahead
  • 2 or more years of maintenance experience in an industrialized, manufacturing environment
  • 4 or more years of experience in the pulp and paper industry
  • Experience in Industrial Process Controls (PLC, DCS, control valves, industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure, & temperature)
