The Opportunity:

As a JointInterface Control Officer (JICO) supporting the SCOPES Program at USSOUTHCOM, you will support the Joint Task Force–Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) JDN Cell as a lead technical advisor for Joint Tactical Data Link (TDL) operations and Joint Domain Network (JDN) integration. You will plan, coordinate, and manage Multi-TDL Architecture (MTA) to enable secure, reliable, and interoperable command and control (C2) communications among U.S., coalition, and partner nation forces. Your expertise will ensure the effective integration of tactical data links, optimize network performance, and provide commanders with the situational awareness and decision advantage required to support multi-domain operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, establish, manage, and maintain Joint Tactical Data Link (TDL) and Multi-TDL Architecture (MTA) networks supporting theater-level command and control operations.

  • Coordinate with Joint, Service, coalition, and partner nation stakeholders to ensure interoperability, resolve interface conflicts, and optimize tactical data link performance.

  • Develop and maintain Tactical Data Link requirements, Information Exchange Requirements (IERs), Interface Control Plans (ICPs), and supporting operational documentation.

  • Provide technical expertise on Link-16, Link 22, Mode 5 IFF, MADL, TTNT, C2BMC, GCCS, JRE, ADSI, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), and other tactical data link systems.

  • Support operational planning, exercises, and real-world operations by integrating tactical data link capabilities into Joint Domain Network (JDN) architectures.

  • Monitor network performance, identify interoperability issues, and recommend corrective actions to maintain reliable and resilient C2 communications.

  • Advise senior leaders on tactical data link architecture, emerging capabilities, cryptographic modernization, and best practices to enhance multi-domain operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

  • 8+ years of experience serving as a mid-level or senior staff officer supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, Service Component Headquarters, or equivalent operational headquarters with Tactical Data Links (TDLs) and theater-level command and control architectures.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Multi-TDL Architecture (MTA), Link-16, Link 22, Mode 5 IFF, MADL, TTNT, C2BMC, GCCS, JRE, ADSI, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), and related tactical data link systems.

  • Experience developing TDL architectures, Information Exchange Requirements (IERs), interface control documentation, and joint or coalition interoperability solutions.

Desired:

  • JID-TC Joint Interface Control Officer certifications (JT-101, JT-102, JT-201).

  • Joint Domain Network (JDN) training or certifications (JDN-102, JDN-201).

  • Experience supporting multinational operations, joint exercises, and theater-level command and control integration within a Combatant Command environment.
