Job Summary
The Java Software Engineer will develop and maintain middleware and web services that connect enterprise systems with customer-facing product lines and business services. The role involves building Java-based applications using Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, developing and consuming REST APIs, and working with relational databases and cloud-native technologies. The engineer will collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and development efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications using Java 11/17, Spring Boot, and the broader Spring ecosystem.
• Develop, integrate, and consume REST APIs and web services to support middleware and enterprise business services.
• Build and maintain software components that facilitate communication between enterprise systems and customer-facing product lines.
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms to support application data requirements.
• Develop and maintain applications for cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Support containerized application deployments and contribute to migration initiatives from Kubernetes to Azure Container Apps (ACA).
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to improve software development lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Participate in application design, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Follow software development best practices, coding standards, and established development processes.
Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11/17.
• Experience developing applications using Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps (ACA), particularly application migration between container platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and cloud-native application deployment.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Experience supporting middleware, enterprise integrations, or web services for business applications.
