Job Summary
The Programmer Analyst Senior will provide technical and consultative support on complex technical matters and lead code development for the Credit Card Servicing product. The role will design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based solutions within a payments ecosystem, with a focus on Spring Boot, REST APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-enabled services, data architecture, Kafka, containers, and enterprise integrations. The position will collaborate with engineers, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-quality solutions in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, code, test, deploy, and support Java-based solutions within the payments ecosystem.
• Develop modern RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to full stack development, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-enabled container-based services across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Assist with system design and business analysis, including server layout, availability, disaster recovery planning, and production deployments.
• Assist with software and data design, including database schemas, storage considerations, data mapping, data storage efficiency, NoSQL considerations, RDBMS-to-NoSQL transitions, and flat-file-to-NoSQL solutions.
• Design APIs including call signatures, schemas, business logic, data access, resilience, logging, and supportability.
• Support software delivery through hands-on development and advisory or architectural contributions.
• Assist with creating server architectures, table layouts, highly available and recoverable data resources, and performant data sources.
• Support transition to Kafka by analyzing use cases and contributing to Kafka environment setup, enrichment, and transformation requirements.
• Support migration from physical and virtual machine environments to cloud-based runtime environments and containers.
• Implement solutions using DevSecOps toolchains and processes.
• Analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications.
• Provide technical assistance in resolving hardware and software problems.
• Apply technical industry knowledge and available tools for systems development and support.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to create common API layers between data sources and applications within an Agile product model.
• Develop software using DevOps practices for environment setup, automated builds, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.
• Implement enterprise services and APIs under the guidance of architecture and engineering leadership.
• Deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
• Develop unit tests and automated test scripts as part of routine development activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendor partners, and business owners to ensure solutions meet business and customer needs.
• Maintain and evolve existing integration assets and systems.
• Assist with identifying training needs and training less experienced staff when required.
• Contribute to processes and methods that support the maturity of integration development, implementation, and operations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or an additional 4 years of related work experience in lieu of the degree.
• 5+ years of related software development experience, including creating and maintaining application interfaces between data sources and applications.
• 5+ years of strong Java development experience, including experience with the Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle.
• 5+ years of experience developing application interfaces and APIs using Java or similar object-oriented languages.
• 5+ years of coding and scripting experience.
• 1+ years of experience with DevOps.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL.
• Experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated builds, continuous deployment, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software and data design concepts, including relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Services, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Strong experience with the SDLC process.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams, vendors, and business groups.
• Experience with Kafka and cloud-based container environments.
