NEW Water is seeking an experienced
IT Systems & Cybersecurity Engineer to lead our enterprise infrastructure and safeguard mission-critical public utility systems. In this role, you will balance proactive cyber defense, modern datacenter administration, and strategic IT project leadership to ensure continuous availability and resiliency across our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Architect & Administer Infrastructure: Drive the operational health and performance of enterprise servers, virtualization environments, multi-site networks (wired, wireless, fiber, and remote access), and cloud-based systems.
- Lead Cybersecurity & Disaster Recovery: Proactively defend critical electronic assets against emerging internal and external threats, conduct anomaly monitoring and patch management, direct incident response, and manage multi-site backup and disaster recovery architectures.
- Drive Technology Strategy & Projects: Provide project management leadership across infrastructure rollouts, evaluate hardware/software upgrades, integrate operational technology and industrial control systems, and inform long-term procurement and budgeting.
What You Bring- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field (an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered).
- Experience: 6+ years designing, developing, and administering enterprise systems, networks, and modern datacenter environments, with a strong background in cybersecurity governance and operational policy execution.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of server and network virtualization, high availability/redundancy architectures, multi-layered endpoint and network defense, automation scripting, and root-cause incident troubleshooting under pressure.
- Licensure & Preferred Credentials: Valid Wisconsin driver's license required; industry-standard enterprise systems, network, or security certifications are highly valued (Security+, CompTIA+
Compensation:Hiring Range: $98,946-$116,417 (annually)
Full Salary Range: $98,946-$139,693 (annually)
