SummaryThe IT System Manager oversees and optimizes company-wide business and production-critical application systems to ensure business continuity and operational efficiency across manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for the stable operation of mission-critical systems including ERP, MES, MCS, and WMS. The position focuses on resolving day-to-day business issues on the shop floor and driving system and process improvement activities to maximize productivity, while collaborating closely with the IT Security team to maintain a secure infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations and troubleshoot issues for core manufacturing systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Material Control System (MCS), and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Rapidly resolve business logic errors, data discrepancies, and system process issues raised by production and business units
- Monitor and maintain data integrity across system interfaces (APIs, EAI, data transfers) to prevent operational bottlenecks
- Analyze user requirements from the manufacturing front lines to design, modify, and implement system enhancements
- Lead enhancement projects for legacy systems and manage the introduction of new smart factory modules or digital solutions to streamline workflows
- Establish user guidelines and conduct training sessions for business users regarding system changes and new features
- Apply and maintain firewall, VPN, and factory network security configurations in alignment with guidelines established by the IT Security team
- Support the deployment and integration of security solutions (DLP, DRM, and similar) to protect core manufacturing technologies and intellectual property
- Provide technical infrastructure support and execute remediation tasks during security vulnerability assessments and audits led by the IT Security team
- Ensure 24/7 availability of the underlying infrastructure supporting the applications, including servers (on-premise and cloud), databases, and network environments
- Oversee backup strategies and Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios to minimize manufacturing downtime
- Manage contracts, SLAs, and technical collaborations with external IT partners, vendors, and SI/SM developers
- Maintain confidentiality of company, production, and business system information at all times
- Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required
Experience- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT system operation and business systems support required
- Proven experience operating and improving manufacturing applications such as ERP, MES, MCS, and WMS required
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and end-to-end data pipelines within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, system governance, and application lifecycle management preferred
- Experience managing external IT vendors, contracts, and service level agreements preferred
- Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment

- Regular interaction with production teams, business units, executive leadership, external vendors, and headquarters personnel
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing and production areas requiring adherence to company safety policies and PPE requirements
- Regular exposure to confidential business, production, and intellectual property information requiring a high level of discretion
- Fast-paced environment requiring timely response to system issues, production disruptions, and project deadlines
- This position supports essential manufacturing systems operations. The role requires availability to support 24/7 system availability, and may require support during off-hours, weekends, shutdowns, or system emergencies to maintain production continuity and coordinate with headquarters.
