DescriptionPosition Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for addressing day-to-day internal customer issues, as well as creating and managing software applications, to support nLight's engineering and manufacturing teams. This is a growth opportunity within the IT Software Engineering group and is an ideal fit for a team-oriented, self-directed person with ambition and drive.
This position will be onsite in Camas, WA and hybrid as agreed with the IT Software Manager and Head of IT.
Key Responsibilities - Support nLIGHT's manufacturing groups' use of existing applications
- Create and maintain software applications and services that are used to control and record the manufacture of high-power lasers.
- Create applications using C#.NET, MVC, and SQL to automate the of handling of manufacturing data and associated engineering data
- Follow software design standards including abstraction, design patterns, and change control
- Establish effective communication with other departments to ensure that requirements are understood and that projects are completed in a timely and effective manner
- Thoroughly document software design, execution, and end-user instructions
- This position will report to the IT Software Engineering manager and is expected to be able to operate under light supervision and make independent decisions and judgments.
Required Qualifications - BS in Software Development or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ year developing software.
- Direct experience programming with C# .NET, SQL, XML, JSON.
- Experience developing Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Experience with integration of ERP, SPC and Data Collection systems.
- Communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience with MVC, HTML5, and JavaScript (Bootstrap, jQuery).
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with developing, deploying, or supporting Azure applications and services.
- Experience with Windows administration, configuration management, continuous integration, or continuous deployment practices.
- Knowledge of lasers and their underlying principles
- Experience creating and consuming RESTful and SOAP API's

nLIGHT is proud to offer comprehensive COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Starting salary level is based on qualifications:
- IT Software Engineer I: $85,000 - $95,000 annually
- IT Software Engineer II: $90,000 - $115,000 annually
- Senior IT Software Engineer III: $103,000 - $135,000 annually
Other Compensation and Benefits - Target Cash Bonus of 5-6% of earned wages, depending on level.
