Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (Infrastructure & Grid Modernization)
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and technically proficient Senior IT Project Manager to lead high-priority initiatives within our enterprise infrastructure and smart-metering ecosystem. In this role, you will lead all phases of the project lifecycle, including solution blueprinting, business process design, and the integration of complex technical workstreams. You will serve as the primary bridge between executive leadership, technical engineering teams, and external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of mission-critical systems.
This is a leadership role for a professional who thrives in regulated environments and complex IT ecosystems. You will own the "big picture" of technical delivery, ensuring that infrastructure, data flows, and system interfaces are seamlessly aligned with functional business requirements. If you possess a strong blend of business acumen and technical depth, with a track record of managing large-scale utility or regulated-industry technology projects, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Solution Delivery
• Full-Lifecycle Management: Lead all phases of major IT initiatives, from pre-planning and technical blueprinting to execution, monitoring, and final closure.
• Solution Blueprinting: Partner with technical teams to develop comprehensive solution blueprints, defining scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Integrate complex infrastructure, data pipelines, and system interfaces.
• Planning & Analysis: Coordinate the planning phases, including technical feasibility reviews, environment readiness, development sequencing, testing strategies, and deployment rollouts.
Financial & Resource Management
• Financial Oversight: Prepare, analyze, and manage regular financial reports, including budget tracking, variance analysis, and multi-year forecasting for program releases.
• Resource Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive resource plans based on technical scope, defining roles, skill requirements, and cost estimates across multiple workstreams (data, integration, infrastructure, and QA).
• Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee procurement processes, manage third-party vendor relationships, and support contract negotiations for key IT and financial components.
Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Engagement
• Governance & Compliance: Maintain clear documentation of financial transactions and milestones to ensure audit readiness and strict adherence to regulatory/compliance standards.
• Change Control: Manage project scope against baseline requirements; document changes, assess downstream impacts, and escalate risks to senior leadership with clear mitigation recommendations.
• Strategic Communication: Facilitate business process mapping and requirements clarification; translate complex technical information into clear, actionable updates for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in project/program management, with at least 3+ years managing large-scale IT programs within the utility, energy, or highly regulated sectors.
• Technical Mastery:
oProven experience managing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), smart grid deployments, or large-scale electric utility technology projects.
oStrong "big picture" IT infrastructure knowledge-ability to identify gaps in complex technical delivery models.
oHands-on experience with resource planning, solution blueprinting, and end-to-end delivery management.
• Core Competencies: Strong blend of business insight and technical proficiency; ability to lead day-to-day PM deliverables while overseeing delegated workstreams; excellent risk management and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Attributes
• Current PMP certification.
• Experience delivering/developing complex technical documentation for executive, non-technical audiences.
• Strong track record in vendor contract negotiations and financial compliance within IT sectors.
• Adaptable, feedback-oriented leader capable of absorbing large amounts of information rapidly in a fast-paced environment.
