Full Job Description
The IT SAP Product Manager will lead product strategy, roadmap definition, and delivery execution for SAP Finance capabilities within the Finance and Accounting Reinvention (FAR) program. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Enterprise Architecture, SAP delivery teams, system integrators, and business leadership to modernize finance processes, enable SAP S/4HANA capabilities, and deliver measurable business outcomes across record-to-report, procure-to-pay, accounts payable, general ledger, asset accounting, financial reporting, controls, and related finance domains. This role requires deep SAP Finance product management experience and heavy hands-on experience operating in a SAFe Agile environment. The successful candidate must be able to translate business strategy into features, manage program-level backlogs, drive PI Planning readiness and execution, align multiple Agile teams, and ensure delivered solutions create value, reduce risk, improve controls, and support the broader finance transformation agenda. Essential Functions:  • Own and manage the SAP Finance product roadmap for the FAR program, aligning product priorities with business goals, finance transformation objectives, risk reduction, regulatory needs, and enterprise technology strategy. • Serve as the primary IT product lead for SAP Finance capabilities, partnering with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to define business outcomes, future-state processes, product features, user journeys, and measurable value. • Lead program backlog definition, prioritization, refinement, and readiness across SAP Finance workstreams, ensuring features are clearly defined, sequenced, estimated, and aligned to PI objectives. • Drive SAFe ceremonies and operating rhythms, including PI Planning, backlog refinement, system demos, inspect-and-adapt sessions, dependency management, risks, issues, and cross-team alignment. • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, architects, functional leads, and delivery teams to convert roadmap priorities into features, stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans. • Provide product leadership across SAP S/4HANA Finance domains, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, cost accounting, banking, financial close, reporting, controls, and integration with upstream and downstream systems. • Partner with finance process owners to simplify, standardize, and automate business processes while ensuring appropriate controls, auditability, compliance, and operational resilience. • Manage dependencies across Agile Release Trains, SAP workstreams, data, integrations, reporting, security, testing, change management, and business readiness activities. • Work with system integrators and internal delivery partners to ensure solution designs are fit for purpose, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards. • Define and track product success measures, including adoption, cycle-time improvement, defect reduction, process efficiency, reporting quality, compliance readiness, customer satisfaction, and business value realization. • Communicate roadmap progress, risks, trade-offs, decisions, and outcomes to senior leaders using clear, business-focused language. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical Knowledge/Skill: • Proven experience serving in a SAFe Product Manager, Senior Product Owner, Product Lead, or similar role within a large enterprise Agile transformation. • Direct experience with SAFe PI Planning, including roadmap preparation, feature prioritization, capacity discussions, dependency resolution, risk management, and executive readouts. • Ability to manage program-level backlogs and align team-level execution with ART-level priorities, business outcomes, and measurable value. • Experience coordinating across multiple Agile teams and workstreams in a complex enterprise program with cross-functional dependencies. • Strong working knowledge of SAFe roles, ceremonies, artifacts, metrics, and Lean-Agile principles. • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Leading SAFe, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification strongly preferred. • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Central Finance, SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Fiori, enterprise reporting, integration platforms, or data conversion activities. • Experience in utility, energy, regulated, or asset-intensive industries. • Knowledge of finance transformation, operating model redesign, process standardization, shared services, automation, and controls modernization. • Experience managing vendors, system integrators, and distributed delivery teams. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.                       Experience: • Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in IT product management, SAP delivery, finance technology, ERP transformation, or enterprise business applications. • Strong SAP Finance background with experience supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations, upgrades, migrations, or large-scale transformation programs. • Hands-on experience with core finance and accounting processes, including record-to-report, procure-to-pay, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, asset accounting, financial close, controls, reconciliation, and financial reporting. • Must have heavy, practical SAFe program experience, including operating within Agile Release Trains, managing program backlogs, preparing for and leading PI Planning, defining PI objectives, managing dependencies, and coordinating delivery across multiple Agile teams.                              Licenses & Certifications: • N/A Working Conditions: • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. #LI-Hybrid #LI-ES3 #corpajd Competencies: Build trusting relationships Manage and develop people Foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration Lead change Communicate strategic vision Create an engaged workforce Focus on the customer Take ownership & accountability Compensation and Benefits: Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.Check out our careers site for an overview of our benefits programs.
