IT Engineer, Data CenterThe IT Team- **Examples of key problems the team is working on**
- - **Engineer the systems behind one of the world's largest compute buildouts.** Everything runs as code, version-controlled and reproducible, so a new hire, team, or site spins up in minutes instead of days. You'll build internal infrastructure with real engineering rigor and keep it ahead of a company growing 10x.
- - **Solve multi-tenancy problems most IT engineers never touch.** Fluidstack runs teams, sites, and customers in parallel, and the internal systems have to keep them cleanly separated and secure at speed. You'll own architecture problems usually reserved for product infrastructure, on the inside.
- - **Give every employee the speed it takes to reach tens of gigawatts.** The faster the company's people move, the faster we get to tens of gigawatts. You'll own the internal systems and support that keep a 10x workforce unblocked.
Role Scope- - Build and run the on-site IT infrastructure at gigawatt-scale data center campuses, from corporate network and Wi-Fi to badge systems, conference rooms, and edge compute, so a new site is operational the day the first team arrives.
- - Automate provisioning of endpoints, identity, and access across a workforce growing 10x, so device setup and offboarding run as version-controlled code rather than manual tickets.
- - Own the multi-site IT stack that keeps teams, contractors, and customers cleanly separated and secure, coordinating with the security team on access controls and network segmentation.
- - Stand up repeatable IT deployment runbooks for each new campus so the tenth site comes online faster and cleaner than the first.
- - Resolve on-site incidents and unblock field and construction teams directly, closing the gap between a reported issue and a working system in hours, not days.
What We're Looking For- **The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.**
- - You've built and run IT infrastructure across multiple physical sites, standing up networks, identity, and endpoint management from nothing rather than inheriting a mature environment.
- - You've automated IT operations with code (scripting, infrastructure-as-code, MDM policy as code) so that a task done twice by hand became software.
- - You've owned identity and access management (SSO, SCIM, directory services) for a fast-growing organization without letting access sprawl or offboarding gaps accumulate.
- - You've been the person field, construction, or operations teams call when systems are down on site, and you've resolved incidents under time pressure with people waiting on you.
- - You've designed multi-tenant or segmented network environments that kept separate teams, sites, or customers secure without slowing anyone down.
- - You write documentation and runbooks clear enough that the next engineer can stand up a site without asking you how.
- - Bonus: Data center or industrial site IT experience. Hands-on networking (BGP, VLANs, firewalls) at scale. Okta, Jamf, or Intune administration. Security or compliance framework exposure (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
