Full Job Description
About the role

Investment Operations is where a member's money actually moves. Our team owns the full operational lifecycle of a member's investment accounts-from the moment an application is submitted, through funding and investing, into ongoing rebalancing, and across every dollar that moves in or out along the way.

You already run all four of our core functions-Trading, Transfers, Account Lifecycle, and Investment Experience-independently, and here you'll start training Associates on them. The path from Specialist to Lead is measured by how many functions you can teach, how little guidance you need, and the automation and process improvements you ship on your own rather than contribute to. You'll report to the Head of Investment Operations on a small team where individual contribution is highly visible, and you'll work directly with members and our Certified Financial Planners. That vantage point shows you where our process breaks, and at this level we expect you to own the fix-within your approval limits, from proposal through execution-not just raise your hand.

We're excited to hire this role at Range's Headquarters in McLean, VA, or in our New York City office (preferred). All of our positions follow an in-office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with your team. If you're not currently based in one of these areas but love what you see, let's discuss relocation as part of your journey to joining us.

What you'll do with us
  • Run all four core functions-Trading, Transfers, Account Lifecycle, and Investment Experience-independently, and train at least one Associate on one of them
  • Own the trading process end to end, from suitability review through daily rebalancing checks, with approval authority within defined limits
  • Keep member funds moving accurately and on time, and independently resolve the transfer issues that would otherwise keep a member from being invested
  • Guide accounts from approved application to fully invested, clearing operational blockers with only occasional oversight
  • Serve as a licensed point of contact for members and a resource Associates escalate to
  • Own at least one shipped automation or process improvement, rather than only contributing to work led by others
  • Partner with CFPs and the broader investments team, with growing exposure to investment management and portfolio modeling

What will set you apart
  • 4-6+ years of experience in investment operations, brokerage operations, or a comparable financial services role
  • Deep familiarity with custodial or clearing platforms and core brokerage workflows, including where those workflows tend to break
  • A track record of running operations functions without supervision, and explaining a process clearly enough that someone else could execute it
  • Sharp attention to detail and sound judgment on when to act within approval limits versus escalate
  • A bias toward shipping improvements, not just proposing them
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to talk directly to members
  • Series 7, 63, or 65/66 required; FinTech, RIA, or broker-dealer experience a plus

Benefits
  • Health & Wellness: 100% employer-covered medical insurance for employees (75% for dependents), plus dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k): Retirement savings program to support your future
  • Paid Time Off: Dedicated time to reset and recharge plus most federal holidays
  • Parental Leave: Comprehensive leave policy for growing families
  • Meals: Select meals covered throughout the week
  • Fitness: Monthly movement stipend
  • Equity & Career Growth: Early exercise eligibility and a strong focus on professional development
  • Full access to cutting-edge AI tools: We cover the cost so you can experiment, build, and move faster
  • Annual Compensation Reviews: Salary and equity refreshes based on performance
  • Boomerang Program: After two years at Range, you can take time away to start your own company. We'll hold your spot for 6 months - and pause your equity vesting, which resumes if you return
