About the job Investment Banking Research Associate

The Investment Banking Research Associate will provide information research support to a global investment banking client. The associate will help in collecting data / reports on sectors and economies from databases and general web, to share with the client for further usage. Knowledge of TMT, Industrials, Consumer, Healthcare, Energy, FIG and Real Estate sectors would be preferable. Strong knowledge of sector-specific databases and economic sources would help the associate in providing the best available information to the client.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
  • Process research requests effectively and efficiently, by selecting and utilizing the most relevant internal and external information sources
  • Engage with bankers to provide real time support in meeting their requirements and formalize end deliverables within defined timelines
  • Should be comfortable using databases such as Thomson, FactSet, SNL, IDC, Gartner, Pitchbook, Forrester, Wood Mackenzie, Clarkson, Wards Auto, Euromonitor, AC Nielsen, EvaluatePharma, EIU, Havers Analytics, MergerMarket, SDC, Dealogic, etc.
  • Experience in handling industry and economic research, with sound knowledge of sector news run, thematic market research, sector screening, country data, transaction runs, volume & fee runs, etc.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior team members to upscale their skillset, and quality check their work
  • Drive efficiencies in the process or work products through bringing in innovative ideas

Requirements:
  • B.S. Business Administration / Economics
  • Strong business research fundamentals and understanding of financial concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office, with knowledge of spreading financial or other numbers in an excel file
  • Multitasking, teamwork, and time management skills
  • Able to work under pressure and thrive in a deadline driven environment
  • Lateral thinker, decisive and self-confident
