Overview

The Investment Advisor II supports the firm's Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) business by assisting with portfolio implementation, asset allocation monitoring, client investment planning, investment reporting, and business development activities. The role serves as a key liaison among portfolio management, client service, operations, and business development teams to help deliver customized investment solutions and exceptional client service.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the OCIO Lead in implementing client investment programs. Calculate trade amounts and coordinate among KoCAA portfolio managers, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Monitor client asset allocations versus targets for rebalancing opportunities due to cash flows and/or market movements; coordinate with Asset Allocation Committee to implement strategic allocation adjustments across applicable investment programs.
  • Assist in developing client investment strategies by incorporating capital market assumptions, risk tolerance assessments, and investment objectives.
  • Review, update and draft client investment policy statements, as needed.
  • Participate in preparation of quarterly investment reports, performance reviews, and client presentation materials, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Support Sales & Business Development efforts via RFP responses, data gathering and presentation preparation.
  • Participate in periodic client investment meetings.
    Additional responsibilities include:
    • Analyze portfolio performance, attribution, and risk characteristics relative to client objectives and benchmarks.
    • Work with the investment team to perform ad hoc analysis or projects, as needed.
    • Build strong working relationships with Client Service and Operations to strengthen cross-functional collaboration, communication, and problem solving.
    • Develop a strong understanding of KoCAA's products and services, investment process and value proposition. Attend and participate in asset class specific meetings.
    • Develop a strong understanding of Catholic Social Teaching, its investment applications and KoCAA's approach to implementation.
    • Prepare analyses, presentation materials, and supporting documentation for Asset Allocation Committee meetings.
    • Collect, organize and analyze internal and external data.


Skills Qualifications

Required:
  • Strong written communication skills with experience preparing client presentations, investment reports, or business-development materials.
  • Ability to verbally present information in a clear, concise manner appropriate for multiple audiences.
  • Functional knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation theory and capital markets expectations.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience evaluating portfolio performance, risk metrics, and asset allocation outcomes.
  • Understanding of macroeconomic environment and market conditions; ability to articulate an investment view.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and advanced Excel. Familiarity with performance reporting, analytics, or data visualization tools preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.


Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account a broad array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the wage range if the position is performed in another location. At the Knights of Columbus, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120,500 - $205,000.

Authorization to work in the United States is required

Education

Required:
  • BA or BS degree.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a similar role.

Preferred:
  • Relevant graduate degree a plus.
  • CFA candidate or demonstrated commitment toward professional investment credentials preferred.
