Rank will be commensurate with experience.A strong interest in clinical care and education is required. Scholarly output is encouraged but not required.
Yale Interventional Radiology (YIR) is a nationally leading academic section which provides the entire spectrum of IR procedures with high-volume oncologic, vascular, transplant, trauma and pediatric services. Due to increasing service successes, the section is expanding. It is currently composed of 18 faculty, 8 advanced practice providers and 20 integrated and independent IR residents with access to a wide range of imaging modalities. The practice includes a large tertiary multi-disciplinary hospital (~1500 beds) with an associated NCI-designated cancer center, two affiliated peripheral inpatient hospitals (>500 beds), a VA hospital, two out-patient IR facilities and numerous IR clinics. Applicants should be enthusiastic about joining a mutually supportive group of nationally recognized faculty who excel at practicing "state-of-the art" IR within an academic environment.
Qualifications
In addition to providing excellent clinical care, the candidate will be expected to expand the academic profile of the program in education and, if desired, clinical research. The candidate is expected to have multi-modality image guidance expertise, be technically proficient in a wide variety of procedures and have strong clinical acumen. Depending on specific applicant credentials, protected non-clinical time will be provided to develop and expand practice and participate in national level CME. At least 3-5 years of clinical experience are expected from the applicant. The ideal applicant should have training and experience in advanced vascular interventions e.g. peripheral venous and arterial interventions, DVT and PE thrombectomies, vascular reconstruction and recanalization, aortic interventions (e.g. advanced graft endoleak repair) and be experienced in complex venous access / dialysis management. Prior experiences in logistics and management of these interventions in outpatient centers / OBL are encouraged. While the position is designed as 100% clinical IR, experience in diagnostic cardiovascular imaging would be strongly encouraged.
