Position Summary UTMB is seeking a full-time physician within the Division of Medical Oncology. This position emphasizes high-quality clinical cancer care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department. The successful candidate will join a team of faculty dedicated to delivering exceptional oncology care, advancing clinical education, and participating in scholarly, quality improvement, and research initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive outpatient and/or inpatient oncology care, including management of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and supportive oncology care.
- Participate in chemotherapy administration, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary tumor boards.
- Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and didactic oncology settings.
- Engage in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-including surgery, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, and palliative care-for optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum development, clinical skills training, and oncology-focused academic programs.
Minimum Qualifications - MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment.
- Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, quality improvement projects, or curriculum development in oncology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
