Full Job Description
As an SSD Firmware CI/CD & AI Intern, you will work alongside firmware engineers to enhance and modernize Micron's SSD firmware development ecosystem. You will develop automation tools, AI agents, and CI/CD solutions that improve how firmware is built, tested, integrated, and validated. This role focuses on engineering productivity, intelligent automation, and scalable development workflows rather than firmware feature development.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents that enhance firmware development, testing, integration, and validation workflows.
• Build and maintain Python-based automation solutions for CI/CD pipelines, firmware builds, testing, and release activities.
• Analyze CI/CD pipeline performance, test results, and workflow data to identify opportunities for quality, reliability, and productivity improvements.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and intelligent automation capabilities into existing firmware engineering processes.
• Collaborate with firmware, validation, and software engineering teams to evaluate, deploy, and continuously improve automation and AI-enabled development solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
• 0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research projects, coursework, academic projects, hackathons, or software development activities related to automation, AI, DevOps, firmware, or software engineering.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, debugging, automation, and problem-solving techniques.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, AI agents, machine learning, intelligent automation, or AI-assisted software development.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar technologies to improve productivity and software development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware development, SSD technologies, or large-scale engineering environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts, DevOps practices, automated testing, source control, or software delivery pipelines.
• Experience developing automation tools, workflow solutions, scripts, or software engineering productivity tools.
• Familiarity with AI agents, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or LLM-based applications.
• Experience with Git, build systems, test automation frameworks, cloud technologies, or software development lifecycle processes.
• Demonstrated interest in applying AI technologies to engineering workflows, failure analysis, test optimization, and developer productivity improvements.
