WSP is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Sudbury, Ontario. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse range of transportation, municipal, industrial, and land development projects, providing geotechnical expertise from initial site investigation through to design and construction support.
Your Impact- Deliver clear, technically sound analyses and recommendations that guide major decisions for transportation, municipal, industrial, and land development projects.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, design briefs, and construction-phase guidance to support successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with structural, civil, environmental, and materials engineering teams to integrate geotechnical insight into multidisciplinary designs.
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, drilling oversight, and QA/QC activities to ensure accuracy and safety of field programs.
- Apply geotechnical design software and numerical modelling tools to evaluate soil-structure interaction and optimize project outcomes.
- Contribute to sustainable design approaches that reduce environmental impact and improve long-term resilience.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Several years of hands-on geotechnical engineering experience supporting transportation, municipal, or site development projects.
- A degree in Geological, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering, and progression toward (or attainment of) a P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
- Comfortable conducting field work, geotechnical investigations, and construction-phase reviews.
- Proficient with tools such as SLOPE/W, Settle3, PLAXIS, or equivalent geotechnical modelling software.
- Motivated by delivering practical engineering solutions that strengthen communities.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400 - $102,500
MB & ON: $70,600 - $97,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $69,900 - $92,900
