Full Job Description
Our FCE R&D Interior Radar Development Engineer will lead in-cabin radar development technical activities such as validation planning, KPI methodology and reporting, regression and release sign-off, OEM test deliverables, root-cause analysis and vehicle tuning evaluation for customer programs. This role works closely with the radar lead, algorithm and DSP teams, firmware, tools, customer and supplier teams to ensure KPI validation, calibration robustness and data quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Master the interior radar system and all its technical aspects; become a technical reference for internal teams, suppliers and customers, under the radar lead.
• Own the validation plan: radar system integration testing, KPI definitions, regression strategy and release sign-off.
• Run software performance and KPI validation tests on PC and embedded targets.
• Produce OEM test reports, validation evidence and other customer technical deliverables.
• Define, track and document test cases, corner cases and validation results
• Analyze radar performance (range, angle, Doppler) across seats, occupants, materials and interference conditions.
• Design and run experiments to explain performance gaps; generate technical concepts to improve product performance and KPIs.
• Produce evaluation reports for each software, model and configuration release.
• Decide and report vehicle-specific tuning for customer programs, with algorithm team review.
• Reproduce issues reported internally or by customers and lead root-cause analysis.
• Run regression tests after software, model or configuration updates, with the test and data engineer.
• Prepare and lead customer demonstrations (setup, execution, data capture, debrief).
• Support sensor and antenna calibration verification, including vehicle and headliner integration.
• Support regulatory and rating test cases (child presence detection protocols, radio certification).
• Support supplier collaboration and internal training activities; guide the test and data engineer.
• Other duties or projects as assigned
