OverviewEpstein is seeking an
Interior Designer to join our Interiors team. This position will focus on interior architecture across a variety of market sectors, including Aviation, Hospitality, Corporate, Retail, Multi-Family, and Industrial.
The Interior Designer will collaborate with design, engineering, and technical leadership as part of multidisciplinary project teams. This individual will work directly with clients, participate in meetings, and present design solutions in a clear and concise manner.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-driven design professional capable of managing multiple projects while preparing design documents, renderings, and construction drawings. The position also provides opportunities to mentor less experienced design team members and contributes to the analysis of design challenges and development of creative solutions.
Responsibilities- Establish and understand client needs and objectives to develop programmatic requirements
- Interact and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies on assigned projects
- Initiate, develop, and present design concepts and solutions
- Identify and analyze critical project issues and incorporate project requirements and constraints into design solutions, including building codes, zoning restrictions, and client budgets
- Develop conceptual design strategies, including design sketches, three-dimensional modeling, plan development, and elevation studies
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other project team members to support successful project delivery
- Select furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)
- Research products, materials, and finishes and assist in the development of finish plans and specifications
- Produce construction documentation, including drawings, details, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and ADA requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in and, when appropriate, lead the Construction Administration phase of projects, including attending site meetings, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing submittals, issuing modifications to contract documents, preparing field reports, and performing other project-related responsibilities
- Mentor and support less experienced members of the design team
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited school or Master's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited school
- 6-8 years of project design experience
- NCIDQ or NCARB certification preferred
- Technical proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with design, rendering, and modeling programs such as Enscape, 3ds Max, or Rhino
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign
- Ability to confidently review drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Strong skills in programming, space planning, and materials selection
- Substantial knowledge of construction documents, building codes, ANSI/ADA requirements, and BOMA standards
- Working experience across all phases of the design process
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
- Project management skills, including client presentations, fee negotiation, and budget management

CompensationIndividual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for discretionary annual bonuses based on both company and individual performance.
The salary range for this position is $73,000-90,000 annually.
