What will you do?As an Integration & Test Engineer in our Aerospace sector, you'll lead the build, alignment and test effort for high-performance optical systems developed for aerospace applications. In this hands-on, technical role you will work with other engineers, technicians and technical program managers to integrate various sub-components and sub-systems into electro-optical payloads, completing optical alignment, functional checks, performance verification, and environmental tests. You will collaborate with the design team to plan out AI&T activity, develop new tooling and processes, as well as create appropriate AI&T documentation. You'll collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams and act as a go-to technical resource within your area of responsibility.
Essential Job Functions:- Develop AI&T procedures for electro-optical payloads and sub-systems for a diverse range of applications such as spaceborne, airborne and ground systems used for laser communication, energy transfer, ranging, imaging and spectrography
- Select COTS tools and test equipment, as well as develop custom tooling to support AI&T activity
- Own challenging technical problems that arise during assembly and test
- Develop risk reduction tests to support risk mitigation activity
- Lead technical execution on AI&T programs including task delegation, technical oversight, design reviews, and customer communication
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering standards and best practices
- Support proposals, technical presentations, and customer design reviews

What are we looking for?- BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6+ years of experience in:
- Integration and testing of high performance optical systems for aerospace applications
- Development of AI&T documentation such as work instructions, travelers, alignment procedures and test plans
- Mechanical, electrical and optical GSE development
- GD&T application per ASME Y14.5M
- CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with optical alignment techniques in a lab setting
- Experience with supporting environmental tests, such as vibration and TVAC
- Must be a US Person (U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident)
Compensation and BenefitsSenior Engineer pay range: $114,443 - $190,738*
Lead Engineer pay range: $138,476 - $230,793*
*This range represents base pay. In addition, you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
