Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Regulatory Counsel to join our team. You will report directly to the VP, Associate General Counsel and Head of P&L Support and will be responsible for providing legal and regulatory advice to ensure compliance with state and federal insurance laws and regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Review and analyze state insurance department statutes, regulations, and bulletins to stay current on changes and developments, determine new filing and regulatory requirements, and work with business partners to implement such changes.
- Provide legal advice and support on regulatory compliance matters, including subsidiary governance support.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure regulatory compliance across the organization.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, including insurance holding company and UCAA filings.
- Build and maintain relationships with the company's regulators.
- Lead the company's efforts in preparing for and working through market conduct exams and other regulatory inquiries.
- Assist and support the Regulatory Reporting Team on licensing and other regulatory reporting matters.
Your skills and abilities should include:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance regulatory law, preferably within a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal insurance laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

SALARY RANGE
$170,000-$185,000 USD
