Job Title:
Instrumentation & Controls Technician

Summary:
The Instrumentation & Controls Craftsperson is proficient in the calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instruments and controls used in industrial environments and provides expert systems support across the site. In this role you’ll perform installation, calibration, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of a wide range of process instrumentation. Working closely with operations and engineering teams, this position plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, safety, and process performance.

The starting pay for this position is $39.99, with progression to $43.58.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform calibration, testing, inspection, and maintenance of field instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot control valves, safety valves, transmitters, and actuators
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and instrument datasheets
  • Install, maintain, and repair pneumatic, electronic, and digital instrumentation systems
  • Diagnose instrument loop issues and verify loop checks during commissioning and maintenance activities
  • Perform functional testing and documentation of calibration results in accordance with company and regulatory standards
  • Troubleshoot control system issues and work closely with operations and engineering teams
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, calibration, and testing activities
  • Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs as required
  • Participate in equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and EHS initiatives
  • Support housekeeping and safe work practices in assigned areas
  • Train and mentor other employees as needed
  • Safely assist with other maintenance craft work when required

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Journeyman‑level skills in instrumentation and control systems with the ability to pass and maintain qualification testing
  • Familiarity with DCS and PLC‑based control systems
  • Experience working with diagnostic and test equipment
  • Ability to safely work on industrial electrical systems relevant to Instrumentation
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment
  • Basic computer skills using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications of Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, maintenance, quality standards and procedures
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate plant vehicles
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
