A Day in the Life:

Here in the Aerospace Capital of America,

Palmdale, California, you will find yourself working on some of the most exciting programs within the company. You will work with a team of NDT Inspectors, certified in all NDI disciplines. Your specialized expertise will aid us in continuing the Skunk tradition in forging ahead. On any given day, you may:
• Set up and operate various types of computerized and state-of-the-art nondestructive test equipment
• Work in multiple NDI disciplines
• Participate in hands-on training and development of NDI techniques

Depending on assigned area, physical demands will vary by platform being supported. Candidates need to be able to support the following:

Full-time standing with limited resting periods. Ability to walk up to 3 miles in a day. Sit for extended periods, if required. Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work from step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure without handrails.

Overhead work: Able to work overhead as required.

Weight restriction: Able to lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 30 lbs.

Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required.

Attendance: Regular attendance required based on set schedule.

**Work Scheduel - 3X12A - 3 12 hr days Fri-Sun; Mo/Tu/We/Th off

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years Non-Destructive Inspection Testing experience,

Documented previous NAS-410 Level II Training and OJT in four or more Certifications to include the following;

Ultrasonic (UT)

Penetrant (PT)

Magnetic Particle (MT)

Eddy Current (ET)

Radiography (RT)

Shearography (ST)

Thermography (IRT)

Must be certified in Penetrant (PT) , Magnetic Particle (MT), Radiography (RT) and any other method.

Must have a Secret clearance to start.

Desired Skills

Aerospace Experience.

Ability to conduct OJT for trainees.

Penetrant and Magnetic Particle experience in an aerospace setting.

Ability to develop written techniques and procedures for approval by an NDT Level III.

Experience in robotic operated NDI equipment preferred.

Experience in NDI testing various materials such as: Composite Structures, Metallics, Bonded Assemblies, and Welds.

Experience with Microsoft Office applications: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and computerized workstations.

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

Must be able to demonstrate and pass general, specific, and practical examinations in above mentioned methods.

Must have experience in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Pay Information
  • $32.01 - $54.49

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
