About the Role
The Innovation Attorney – Client Team Enablement is senior individual contributor within the AI & Legal Innovation team, responsible for supporting the delivery of client-specific AI and legal technology solutions. Working in alignment with the Manager, AI & Innovation – Client Solutions, this role supports partners and clients in identifying opportunities to apply artificial intelligence and legal technology to specific legal workflows and contributes to the development and delivery of practical solutions. The Innovation Attorney partners closely with practicing lawyers, Technology Client Services, Business Development, and technology teams to ensure that client engagements are executed effectively and in accordance with firm and client requirements. As part of the broader AI & Legal Innovation function, the Innovation Attorney contributes to the firm’s mission of identifying, adopting, and promoting leading technologies that enhance lawyer performance and deliver measurable client value.
This role will be located in either our New York, Washington D.C., or Los Angeles (Century City) office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the scoping, design, and delivery of client-specific AI engagements, including workflow development, pilots, workshops, and other collaborative innovation initiatives
- Working with partners, client teams, and clients to identify and assess opportunities to apply AI and legal technology to legal workflows and service delivery
- Advising partners and clients on the practical application of AI to legal work, including capabilities, limitations, appropriate use, and required human oversight
- Supporting moving client opportunities from initial discovery through solution design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support
- Working across AI & Legal Innovation and technology teams to connect client needs with the firm’s approved AI, legal technology, automation, and related capabilities
- Ensuring client-specific AI work is delivered with appropriate quality, documentation, confidentiality, information security, and compliance with firm and client requirements
- Identifying recurring client needs, successful approaches, and capability gaps, and shares those insights with the Manager and broader team to inform reusable solutions and the AI & Legal Innovation agenda
- Collaborating with Business Development teams to prepare technology-related content for panels, pitches, RFPs, and client discussions as needed
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A J.D. or equivalent
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience within a law firm or legal environment
- Established interest in and knowledge of legal technology and AI tools, including Generative AI
- Some prior experience as a practicing attorney, preferably

Pay RangeUSD $220,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
