THE POSITION:THE OPPORTUNITY:Are you a strategic IT project management professional with proven experience leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations? Do you excel at managing complex, cross-functional initiatives, coordinating vendors and system integrators, and guiding organizations through major technology transformations? The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking a skilled and motivated Information Technology Project Manager to join our Information Technology team. In this critical role, you will lead and support ERP implementation initiatives and other large-scale technology projects across the full project lifecycle-from planning and requirements gathering through system design, configuration, data migration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live optimization.
You will collaborate with business units, technical teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders to translate operational requirements into effective ERP solutions, manage system integrations and data migration activities, and help ensure successful implementation and user adoption. You will also oversee project schedules, budgets, risks, deliverables, change management activities, performance metrics, and quality assurance standards. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience managing ERP implementations, strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to successfully guide complex enterprise technology projects from planning through deployment. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, project management, or a closely related field, along with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in IT program or project management, including at least one (1) year of experience in a leadership role overseeing project and portfolios. A combination of relevant education, certifications, and demonstrated leadership experience may be considered in lieu of experience. Candidates with prior experience directly related to enterprise resource planning are highly desirable.
LICENSES; CERTIFICATES; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program.
Possession of the following project management certifications is highly desirable:
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
Skills and Abilities:- Ability to lead and manage ERP implementations and other large-scale technology projects through the full project lifecycle, including planning, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live optimization.
- Skill in coordinating ERP system integrations, data migration, testing, issue resolution, and implementation readiness across technical and functional teams.
- Ability to manage vendors, consultants, and system integrators, including project deliverables, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and contractual commitments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with business units, technical teams, executive leadership, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Skill in analyzing complex business and technical requirements and translating them into effective ERP solutions, project plans, and measurable deliverables.
- Ability to drive organizational change management and successful system adoption through stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and user readiness strategies.
- Skill in establishing and monitoring project schedules, budgets, risks, KPIs, quality standards, and executive-level reporting to ensure successful project delivery.
