Work Schedule/FLSA Status: 12-month year-round / Salaried Exempt
Salary Schedule: S04 92D Specialist 4 position, starts at $94,242.03 per year. Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.
Position Purpose: The Infinite Campus Secondary System Specialist serves as the district's subject matter expert for secondary school operations within the Infinite Campus Student Information System. This position supports the accurate configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement of Infinite Campus functionality to ensure reliable student data management, scheduling, grading, attendance, reporting, and instructional processes. The specialist collaborates with school and district staff to optimize system performance, provide technical and operational support, develop user training and documentation, and promote data integrity and compliance while advancing the educational and administrative goals of Omaha Public Schools.
Essential Performance Responsibilities: - Attend IMS staff meetings
- Participate as an IMS representative on appointed committees and/or projects
- Establish strong standards of professional ethics when relating to staff, students, parents, administration, and the community
- Enhance knowledge of Infinite Campus by attending seminars, conferences, workshops, classes, and user groups/meetings
- Develop/modify, distribute, and/or place under CM the documentation regarding the functionality of Infinite Campus
- Schedule and/or conduct training of appropriate staff members in the functionality of Infinite Campus
- Hold meetings to communicate and discuss the functionality of Infinite Campus
- Troubleshoot issues regarding Infinite Campus that have been escalated
- Track and document work for reliability, repeatability, and better response time
- Evaluate software enhancements before a version upgrade or purchase
- Assists buildings in verifying grades, class rankings, transcripts, and GPAs
- Knowledge, understanding, and ability to maintain Period Schedules, Campus Student/Parent Portal, Academic Planner, Grading Windows, School Choice configuration and processing, Scheduling Board (Mass scheduling) support, reviewing patches, troubleshooting Attendance, Grade Book support, and other teacher Campus Instruction tools, assisting with state reporting duties, and troubleshooting
- Complete Infinite Campus quality assurance tasks
- Complete Infinite Campus ad hoc query requests
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues with Infinite Campus
- Assist the System Administrator of Infinite Campus
- Train the Infinite Campus functionality to staff
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, Secondary Education is highly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of knowledge of/experience in the functions of secondary schools preferred
- Knowledge of the Infinite Campus student information system and its functions
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, providing accurate information, and efficient services to students, staff, and the community
- Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and work with staff to implement solutions
- Organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed work documentation

- Proven ability to work independently, evaluate system requirements, and provide professional written recommendations and reports as required and upon request

Equipment: This position requires the ability to use basic office equipment, including computers, copiers, and scanners. Must always comply with OPS's guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Travel locally within the District may be required.

Terms of Employment This position is treated as a full-time exempt classified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative, then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
