Full Job Description
Industrial
Superintendent
Miranda Construction | Field Leadership | Full-Time Note: Candidates must have industrial construction field experience. Experience limited to commercial or residential general contracting without industrial field supervision will not qualify. A minimum of 3 years as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman managing multiple subcontractors required for consideration. We appreciate your respect for these qualifications.

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Superintendent to join our team - a field leader who thrives on tight coordination, holds high standards, and can drive a project from groundbreaking to turnover with confidence and professionalism.

Role Purpose

The Industrial Superintendent serves as the on-site leader and core value champion for Miranda Construction projects. You will be responsible for on-site coordination across all phases of construction - directing subcontractors, managing schedules, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring every project is completed safely, on time, and in full compliance with plans and specifications.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to establish immediate control and organization on active industrial job sites.

Essential Responsibilities

Field Coordination & Schedule Execution
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in a critical path sequence to ensure timely project completion.
  • Walk all project areas daily to monitor work progress and support forward planning.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor coordination meetings to align the work and address issues proactively.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for timely resolution.

Quality Control & Compliance
  • Perform ongoing quality control inspections and enforce strict adherence to plans, specifications, and local codes.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors for deficient work, scheduling failures, or safety violations.
  • Ensure all identified deficiencies are corrected by the responsible subcontractor prior to proceeding.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and applicable authorities.
  • Perform job progress punch lists and completion walkthroughs with thoroughness and accountability.

Subcontractor Management & Communication
  • Ensure each subcontractor is fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work.
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Communicate with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals.
  • Preside at pre-construction meetings with each subcontractor to align expectations before work begins.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Safety & Site Management
  • Monitor and enforce Miranda Construction safety standards and OSHA compliance at all times.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and jobsite audits regularly.
  • Ensure the job site is consistently kept clean, organized, and secure.
  • Open the job site at the start of each day; secure it at the end of the day.
  • Report and address potentially unsafe conditions immediately.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain a daily report of all site activities, workforce levels, and notable events.
  • Gather and maintain project material submittals and records of approvals at the job site.
  • Communicate drawing and specification conflicts or deviations to the project team prior to execution.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with schedule updates and planning.
  • Participate in preconstruction planning meetings.
  • Identify scope of work outside of subcontracted agreements and escalate appropriately.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Education
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable Superintendent or Lead Foreman experience on industrial construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex industrial jobsite sequencing.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction trades and sequencing.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction means, methods, and safety requirements.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Computer literate; proficiency with digital communication tools and job site documentation platforms.

Preferred Experience
  • Industrial retrofit and ground-up construction.
  • Multi-site or multi-phase project management experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Leadership: Ability to direct and resolve issues among 10+ subcontractors and vendors with authority and professionalism.
  • Quality Identification: Proven ability to identify deficient work and drive resolution quickly.
  • Communication: Clear and effective oral and written communication across all project stakeholders.
  • Blueprint Reading: Confident interpretation of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Planning & Organizing: Strong ability to prioritize, schedule, and manage competing demands across a dynamic job site.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Conflict resolution, active listening, and team-building across diverse workforces.
  • Adaptability: Comfort managing change, delays, and unexpected site conditions without losing momentum.
  • Professionalism: Consistent, composed approach to pressure; leads by example at all times.

This role requires full engagement in an active construction site environment - both indoors and outdoors. Candidates must be comfortable with the following:
  • Regular standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs occasionally.
