INDUSTRIAL SECURITY ANALYST (PERSEC)

SpaceX is looking for a multidisciplinary Industrial Security Officer (PERSEC) to serve as a Personnel Security Analyst within our Redmond, WA office. This is a chance to fill a critical role within a dynamic and high-tempo environment working on programs pushing the boundaries of industry and technology. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and problem-solver and will possess the ability to convey security requirements to a diverse group of technical personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support all Personnel Security (PERSEC) aspects of a variety of missions at the SCI, SAP and Collateral level
  • Support all steps of PERSEC processing in an efficient manner, including pre-screening, clearance initiation, review of paperwork and customer submission
  • Be able to develop a deep understanding of the clearance processes for SCI, SAP and Collateral
  • Be able to develop a deep understanding of security clearance databases including DISS, NBIS, JADE, TALON, etc.
  • Successfully interact with a variety of government customers to ensure clearances are processed efficiently on the government side
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and question assumptions to make procedures as streamlined as possible
  • Manage all reporting requirements for the entirety of the cleared SpaceX population, to include foreign travel, life changes, incidents and adverse information
  • Coordinate indoctrinations and debriefings
  • Partner with Mission Management and government representatives to ensure SpaceX is providing the best possible security clearance support
  • Partner with internal stakeholder teams to reinforce their understanding of clearance holder requirements and ensure those requirements are met
  • Prepare for and assist with the PERSEC component of compliance inspections
  • Conduct security related inquires and incident reporting
  • Keep abreast of the latest security trends and policy updates, implementing innovative solutions and processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 3+ years of professional experience performing NISPOM-related security responsibilities in lieu of a degree
  • 1+ years security experience in PERSEC performing responsibilities specifically within a SAP, SCI, and/or Collateral environment or a security field

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with DISS, NBIS, JADE, TALON and Scattered Castles
  • Strong knowledge of the NISPOM, (32 CFR 117), Intelligence Community Directives (ICD 704), DoDM 5205.07, and other related security policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with SIMS

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to favorably complete a U.S. Government CI scope polygraph
  • Ability to travel in support of mission requirements,
  • This position is based in Redmond, WA and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed in support of mission-critical deadlines and milestones
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
Level 1: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00
Level 2: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.

Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. a7 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. a7 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
