Full Job Description
Role Overview:

We're not looking for someone who maintains the status quo. We're looking for someone who walks into any room, any process, any operation sees what's broken, and feels compelled to fix it. No process is too small, no function too far outside your title - if it slows the company down, it's in scope.

This is a foundational role with real ownership: you'll define how work and materials flow across the company, build the metrics infrastructure leadership relies on, and drive the operational transformation that shapes our growth trajectory. If you're energized by ambiguity and want your work to directly move the needle - this is your seat.

Who you are:
  • You own problems end-to-end - root cause to sustainable solution - in fast-paced, resource-limited environments
  • You align cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Production) without authority and make it look natural
  • You're data-driven and action-oriented - you build for the long game, document your work, and leave things better than you found them
  • You communicate with equal clarity to the shop floor and to leadership

What you'll own:

Supply Chain & Material Flow

Own how materials move from supplier to line-side. Build the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) as the single source of truth for how every part is sourced, stored, moved, and consumed - driving smarter inventory positioning, predictable replenishment, and zero-shortage flow.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on inventory positioning, replenishment strategies, and flow path design
  • Map and eliminate waste in ordering, material handling, and kitting
  • Develop visual systems and standard work that make the right flow the easy flow

Factory Flow & Throughput

Design and continuously improve end-to-end production workflows. Own facility layout, capacity planning, throughput, and on-time delivery.
  • Design and optimize facility layouts for current needs and future scaling
  • Lead line balancing and workstation redesign to maximize output per operator-hour
  • Partner on new line bring-ups, expansions, and capacity planning

Metrics, KPIs & Reporting
  • Define and own operational metrics: on-time delivery, throughput, yield, efficiency, labor utilization
  • Build dashboards that surface the right data to the right people - translate numbers into recommendations
  • Provide leadership with actionable reporting to improve throughput, efficiency, and accountability

Process Design & Continuous Improvement

Design scalable manufacturing processes from the ground up. Champion Lean, drive root cause investigations, and build a CI cadence that sticks.
  • Design and document scalable processes with data-backed justification - standard work, process flows, decision rationale
  • Champion 5S, waste elimination, and process standardization across the facility
  • Partner with Engineering and Software (MES/ERP) teams to ensure systems reflect real operations
  • Develop scaling plans that anticipate growth and build capacity ahead of demand

What you'll bring to the team:
  • 3+ years in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Operations
  • Proven end-to-end ownership of operational challenges - not just analysis, execution
  • Hands-on production floor experience; fluency in line balancing, labor optimization, and facility layout
  • Cross-functional experience across Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Quality
  • Strong data-driven mindset; comfortable building from scratch in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments
  • Exposure to MES/ERP systems a plus; Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Background in high-mix manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or complex assembly a plus

What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months)
  • No shortages - material flow and inventory positioning are measurably improved, less WIP, better velocity
  • Workflows are defined, standardized, and followed; throughput and on-time delivery have moved with data to prove it
  • Leadership has a live dashboard they actually use
  • Scalable processes are documented and ready for growth
  • You've earned trust across every function - not because of your title, but because of your impact

Compensation:
  • Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
  • Salary Range: $125,000-$180,000
  • This is an onsite role at our headquarters in Cypress, CA.

Benefits:
  • Unmatched opportunities to drive impact on a friendly and mission-driven team
  • Own a piece of the pie with equity participation!
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability coverage
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Spending Account (DSA) for health-related expenses
  • 20 vacation days per year and 12 company holidays for rest and relaxation
  • a 401(k) plan to set yourself up for retirement
  • Choose a record you love, and we'll add it to our growing vinyl collection!
  • $50/month DoorDash credit - lunch is on us!
  • Up to $100/month reimbursement for gym memberships
  • Fully stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages
  • Regular team-building events, lunches, and the occasional breakfast burrito!
  • Bright, open office with communal spaces for collaboration and free parking
  • Conveniently located near the metro, major freeways and local dining spots
