As our next
Industrial Electrician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, refurbishing, installing, programming, debugging, and starting up production and test equipment. The role provides hands-on electrical and controls expertise across automated manufacturing systems, supports high-volume production and continuous improvement, and maintains the technical documentation required for safe, reliable, long-term equipment support. All work must be completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company health and safety, quality, environmental, and production systems. The Electrician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
What You'll Be Doing:- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, refurbish, and support production equipment and facilities in collaboration with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Assemble, program, debug, install, and start up new or modified CNC, PLC, robotic, automated assembly, and test equipment from an electrical, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic perspective.
- Perform detailed electrical troubleshooting on PLCs, CNC controllers, Fanuc robots, VFDs, sensors, motor controls, industrial electrical distribution, safety circuits, and related automation equipment.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime and sustain operational quality and efficiency targets.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation; obtain and update reference manuals, instructions, and electrical drawings for long-term equipment support.
- Test electrical systems and components for safe operation, proper grounding, efficiency, and compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and company procedures.
- Support equipment and facility projects, manufacturing launches, machine upgrades, and the implementation of new or modified production equipment.
- Work with other skilled trades and maintenance team members to coordinate work, communicate equipment status, and complete effective shift handoffs.
- Train and support new hires and apprentices on electrical installation standards, safe work practices, troubleshooting methods, and equipment requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, safety, quality, maintenance effectiveness, and production performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped maintenance work area and support strong housekeeping and project organization standards.
- Ensure work complies with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, applicable electrical requirements, and company Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Production Systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:Qualifications- Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A and/or 309A) in good standing.
- Completion of a recognized Electrician Apprenticeship.
Experience- 1 to 5 years of post-qualification industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting CNC-, PLC-, robotic-, or automated assembly equipment in a high-volume production setting.
Technical & Skill Requirements:- Strong hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems, CNC equipment, motor controls, automation systems, and industrial electrical distribution.
- Exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems; Fanuc robot experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity, dependability, and sense of urgency in a production-driven environment.
Work Environment (Including Physical Demands):- Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, temperature variations, confined spaces, and production materials.
- Required to stand, walk, crouch, climb ladders and stairs, push, pull, lift, and carry tools, components, and materials throughout the facility.
- Operation of material-handling and lifting equipment as required.
- Willingness to work rotating or continental shifts, overtime, and emergency call-ins to support operations.
