Project Overview:Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
Job Summary:In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Major Responsibilities:Leadership/Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 50 craft)
- Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
- Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
- Participates in the development of contract, subcontract, or vendor scopes of work, budgets, contract formation, and negotiations.
Planning/Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates established area operational plans.
- Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
- Supervises the development of construction drawings and sketches.
Safety/Quality
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
- Ensures the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
Technical
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.
- Oversees the preparation of testing processes and required test equipment.
Education and Experience Requirements:- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Extensive experience in large-scale industrial or M&T construction projects.
- Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction operations, planning, scheduling, and execution processes.
- Deep knowledge of ES&H requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing subcontract performance, commercial risks, and contract administration.
- Ability to lead in high-complexity, schedule-driven environments typical of fabrication plants, data centers, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
