Full Job Description
Associate Immigration Attorney
This early-stage company combines AI technology with experienced attorney oversight to deliver high-quality business immigration legal services. As the first attorney hire, you will own cases end-to-end, run client consultations, and help build the practice alongside a 40-year veteran immigration attorney-all while working with AI-powered tools that are transforming the field. About the Role
You will be joining a tight-knit, highly entrepreneurial team operating out of the Financial District in San Francisco. We are looking for someone who is ready to go beyond just filling an associate seat. You will have a direct hand in shaping how the practice, the proprietary AI-assisted tools, and the team evolve. What You Will Be Doing
Case Management: Managing your own caseload of O-1A, EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and H-1B petitions from initial intake all the way through to filing.
Client Consultations: Running free attorney consultation calls with prospective clients (primarily startup founders and highly technical talent) to assess visa strategy and fit.
Full-Lifecycle Drafting: Drafting, reviewing, and submitting petitions-handling the entire lifecycle rather than just performing the final review.
Creative Case-Building: Learning a unique, creative, client-first approach to case-building directly from the Head of Immigration Law, and helping codify these strategies into repeatable playbooks.
Product Development: Providing direct product feedback to the engineering team to shape and improve AI-assisted drafting and review workflows.
Key Requirements
Education & Licensure: J.D or LLM. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in any U.S. state (New York bar is a plus).
Experience: 1-3 years of business immigration experience, ideally at a large immigration firm (e.g., Fragomen, BAL, or a comparable practice).
Mindset: Moldable, highly entrepreneurial, and possessing high agency. You must be open to learning a creative approach to case-building rather than defaulting to traditional big-firm playbooks. You should be excited to build at an early-stage startup.
Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder (employer is not open to providing visa sponsorship).
Location/Work Model: Available to work from the Financial District office in San Francisco, CA. The company prefers candidates who can work in-person (expectations range from a 3-day hybrid model up to 5 days on-site).
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $150,000 - $185,000
Equity: Meaningful equity starting at ~1%+
Benefits: Includes comprehensive health insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), and support for bar dues and Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
