Salary Range: L08: $94,300 - $123,000; L09: $122,900 - $160,400 / year

 

 

Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an ID&C Commissioning Specialist   supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB, TN 37389. The ID&C Commissioning Specialist  will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and supervision as well as helping to satisfy quality requirements on the project. Also, initiating action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work.

Job Summary

 

The ID&C Commissioning Specialist II plays a key role in planning, coordinating and executing commissioning activities for all Instrumentation, Data, Controls, and related Building Automation Systems within mission-critical facilities. This position ensures that all ID&C systems-including PLCs, SCADA/HMI interfaces, control panels, instrumentation devices, and communication networks – are installed, configured, tested, and performing in accordance with the design intent, basis of design, and owner project requirements.

 

The ideal candidate will support development of test schedules, finalize commissioning procedures, drive project cadence, and ensure high-quality documentation. This role requires close coordination with contractors, vendors, and other commissioning disciplines to maintain schedule alignment and deliver fully validated control systems.

 

Job Duties:

  • Support and enforce all safety protocols during ID&C commissioning activities
  • Support full commissioning and performance acceptance testing of all ID&C infrastructure systems Conduct QA/QC review of all ID&C test procedures and commissioning scripts
  • Provide insight and recommendations for enhancing the overall commissioning plan
  • Inspect instrumentation, control panels, wiring, and network components for compliance with vendor submittals and design specifications
  • Verify PLC and controller configurations, logic loading, firmware versions, and communication settings
  • Validate sequence-of-operations (SOO) for all control systems
  • Test and confirm proper function of SCADA/HMI graphics, navigation, alarming, trending, and historian functions
  • Execute test scripts to confirm that ID&C systems perform to design intent under normal, emergency, and fault conditions
  • Review design specifications, manufacturer submittals, IO lists, network diagrams, one-line/control drawings, and project schedules
  • Perform QA/QC of all ID&C installation and startup activities. • Verify instrumentation calibration, sensor accuracy, and signal integrity
  • Document system installation, testing, and acceptance results to show full compliance with design and operational requirements
  • Provide daily commissioning status reports to project leadership
  • Participate in facility walkdowns, system turnovers, and punch list development and resolution
  • Assist other commissioning disciplines in integrated systems testing where control systems interface with electrical or mechanical systems
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as experience and skill level increase.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, controls, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commissioning experience, preferably in ID&C or mission-critical environments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and controls schematics, P&IDs, IO schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Proven experience commissioning PLCs, DDC/BAS systems, instrumentation, control panels, and communication networks.
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive ID&C commissioning scripts, startup procedures, daily reports, and final commissioning documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet, EtherNet/IP) is preferred.
  • Experience with SCADA/HMI systems, alarm management testing, and control logic validation is a plus.

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work.
